Beggers Can't be Chosers?

In this tough economic times can a begger be a choser on what kind of job he or she wants? Well lets see, I have a close friend who is currently living in a tense situation. She had to resign from her job last year due to relocating to another state and her old job wasn't able to transfer her. She was jobless for several months until she returned to were she once lived. She managed to find jobs with temp agencies but her landlord kept wanting her to work at a fast food restuarant in order to keep money flowing. She applied but didn't get any feedback. My friend also applied for at least 50 positions but never received any responses. Her landlord had the tendency to state that she was lazy and that she was choosy about the jobs that she applied for and that she wanted to root for a certain type of job. My friend did have more interviews especially with goverment and state jobs but when she tried to explain to her landlord about it, she had the nerve to say that they're not worth being employed with thme. She turned to me for advice and I told her to try to go back to your old job that you were with for almost five years. Well when she went to apply, not only she was hired back within a week, she's making more money than she did the previous year when she was employed there. And since all of this happen before and after her Birthday, my friend considered this event to be one of the best birthday gift she's had so far.
