Less paying jobs

Why is it that the hard jobs pay less and the great jobs pay more? I work for a cheap call center that has the nerve to give us overtime without letting employees know and work us like slaves. Our lunch breaks are taken away from us for the week which sucks and with all of the crazy hours we have to work for less money!!!!
